Oh Belieber Weekend is on!!

I just booked my ticket to head to New York for the weekend at the end of May, when finals are over and before summer school starts. Cody is coming over from Boston and he and Lindsay and I are going to have such a great weekend!! The Justin Bieber movie comes out on DVD May 13th and we are planning on a group viewing. That is seriously what the entire weekend's plans are based around. Both Lindsay and Cody have seen the movie, I clearly have not. Apparently I will laugh and cry and have a newfound respect for this uber popular 17 year old at the end of it. I will say, I did watch a few clips on YouTube and seeing a little baby 3 year old drumming away is pretty darn adorable. I think there will be some karaoke that weekend and I am sure a few late nights and loads of laughs. I am really looking forward to the break from life and knowing I will have another semester (one of the last actually) behind me and just be able to hang out with friends that I have known for soooo many years now. It will be a much needed weekend of fun!!

She was Born this Way...

This week I went to the Lady Gaga concert. I can safely say that it was the most bizarre thing I have ever been to. Totally worth the money and the experience. She performs for a solid 2 hours which is pretty amazing, but she is just such a character. I am not a "little monster" by any means so maybe it was just normal to everyone else, but my chin was dropped during the majority of the concert. Robin came with me...she is always my concert going buddy. We had fun and it was such an entertaining show, it was just a trip. I will say this, for playing in an arena, she makes it seem like a smaller venue because she just sits and plays the piano and talks a lot. It becomes a very personal concert experience because she talks so much, so I imagine you could see her multiple times and get a different show every single time. The costumes were obviously ridiculous, but it was moreso just what she was saying and doing and the whole thing. Bizarre...thats really the best way I can describe it. Haha. A really fun night nonetheless. Although there were many 10-14 year olds there and after seeing the show, I would NEVER take my child to that. It was very dirty, tons of cursing and wasn't over till midnight. On a Wednesday! Not appropriate for a child in my opinion. Maybe I am just getting old :)

2011...Worst Blogger Ever!!

Well, I don't know where to start because apparently I don't ever blog anymore. I was re-motivated by looking at my friend Emily's blog. Hers is amazing though and interesting...she is doing a trauma rotation in med school, far more exciting than what I do on a day to day basis. I have been working and schooling and sleeping. No one really wants to read about that. I am done with school this summer (supposedly) and that is probably the most exciting thing to report! Currently on Spring Break and leaving the week after for a bachelorette party for my friend Jana in Colorado. We are going to attempt to ski. Well, other people might actually be skiing, I personally will just be attempting. It should be humorous to say the least...I will definitely post pictures!

I just finished reading Jodi Picoult's new book 'Sing Me Home' and it was pretty wonderful, like all of her books. I always look forward to March when she releases a new one. I am loving Adele's new album at the moment and rocking out to 'Rolling In The Deep' on a daily basis. I am obsessed with all shows on Bravo, but specifically 'Bethenny Ever After.' She makes me laugh aloud alone my couch every single Monday night. I also am very into The Bachelor this season (per usual) and am very interested to see who the winner is going to be this season. The finale is next week and I have a feeling I will be disappointed in his choice. The good news is, they live in Austin so I will see them about town and can give Brad bad looks or something :)

Work is the same, super busy, but I still love my bald kids. I am volunteering at St. Baldricks again next week for the 3rd year in a row. I am really excited, it is just such a great event! I have also started observing at an Orthotic & Prosthetic clinic on Mondays, its pretty amazing. I am really excited that I have chosen this to be my new career and also relieved that I am liking it more than I even thought I would. I am hoping to spend more time there and really be able to get involved before starting school in the Fall to get my certification.

The crawfish boil date has been set and I already cannot wait. Its crazy that we are already well into March!!

Other than that, just trying to get through the semester, finish applying for O&P school and working working working. Always staying busy and sleeping when I can :)

Ummm...Feb to May?? Oops.

Well, looks like Nursing School has won the battle over the blog. Although, to be perfectly honest, I am not sure I would really have had much to write about in the past 2 months besides school...and studying...and school. You can only read about how busy I am so many times...so let me assure you, you didn't miss out on anything. I actually cannot believe it's already May!! It has seriously flown by. I am supposed to be studying to finals as we speak, but I really needed a break for my brain so I have been playing on the computer and watching reruns of The Office...I promised myself I would get back to it when this episode was over. Really I would like to go to bed, but I have three tests tomorrow and then I am free so I am going to push through, get no sleep and do amazing on these last tests!! Then I will come home and treat myself to a glorious nap!! Got my first grade posted for the semester and it was an A so that was good motivation to keep going!!

I went home this past weekend for the Annual Moody Family Crawfish Boil (also known as one of my favorite events of the year). It was SUPER fun!! Per usual :) I only got to go home for a short time, due to finals, but it was well worth it and I can't wait to go home again this summer and spend a few days just hanging out with my parents. The crawfish were delicious and everyone had a great time!! My mom and her friends felt the need to do an encore performance of the Tine Turner song and dance from last year...and it was just as entertaining. I got to take home extra crawfish and they were AMAZING!! Although my car now smells of crawfish, but eventually that has to go away right??

I am very much looking forward to being able to get back to working full time this summer and making some money because I am broke!! I hate being back to being poor college student - its terrible!! It is already way too hot to do anything besides be in a pool or stay in the air conditioning so it looks like working is a good option.

See...so you missed out on nothing in the past 2 months - I have literally been stuck on my couch studying and going back and forth between school and work and occasionally my bed!! I cannot wait to be back on a normal sleeping schedule!! This staying up till 2am for school stuff is for the teenagers...not for me.

Whoa...February!!

Apparently I have been having way too much fun to update this in WEEKS!! Or, I had three tests this week and I was drowning in school and unable to have any coherent thoughts other than snippets of random facts about nursing. I was trying to cram it all in and there was no room for anything else...I feared if I tried to type other things, the knowledge would all come falling out. Or to be honest, I was too busy spending my free time watching reruns of Friends. Regardless, I am still alive and did manage to survive the week from school hell and am here to talk about it.

I forgot what it was like to look forward to Fridays. I haven't been in school in so long and I always work the weekends so Fridays have meant nothing to me for the past 3 years, but oh goodness...back with a vengeance!! On Thursday night I start getting excited about Friday and that is my motivation for getting out of bed at 7am Friday morning. I realize that I get a lovely two day break from being forced to learn any new information and I can just relax a bit. I still have to do school work with the previous week's learned material, but at least I get two days off from processing anything new!! Plus I am done at noon on Fridays and typically do not work on Saturdays so its my little break from the week - the wind down. I don't even really mind that I have to work on Sunday because I miss my job and because I get to sleep in at least on Saturdays!!

I have managed to keep somewhat of a social life and have a litttttttle bit of fun despite being a slave to school. I think the only photo worthy fun I had this month was Amber and Seth's wedding shower. They are getting married in March and we had a shower for them a few days ago. It was the best kind of shower - the kind that isn't really a shower. It was just guys and girls all hanging out, eating and drinking and taking a brief moment to open some requisite kitchen items, but mainly just hanging out. The party was full of people I love and so I had a great time just getting to talk and laugh with some of my favorites. I am really looking forward to their wedding - it is going to be so much fun!!

In other news...spring break is only 3 weeks away!! Hahahaha....

Awaiting the Arrival of Baby Jackson!!

This weekend was Sarah's baby shower...so I was back to all things blue and boyish. So much fun!! I love getting a chance to get together with this group of girls - luckily for us, about twice a year someone is getting married/engaged/pregnant...it works out well for everyone. Haha. It was a semi-rainy day, but that does not stop this group from dressing to the nines and gathering around for a good time. Jenni was nice enough to host everyone at her house and we just had a blast. It was so fun to see Sarah and her big belly - I saw her when she was about 14 weeks pregnant and of course to anyone else besides herself, she did not look pregnant at all. Now she is all belly and its so adorable. Hard to believe she still has 12 weeks to go!!! She looks great and she is just so happy. Needless to say, we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Jackson Bruce and then of course, the impending trip to Fultondale, Alabama that will happen in order to meet the little man!

Texas Forever!!

I have officially gotten hooked on the TV show Friday Night Lights. I realize that they are in like the 5th season now and I am super behind, but oh my goodness I don't even care because I am so involved now. I borrowed the first and second seasons from Amber and I spent about 3 days in a row doing nothing but watching the entire first season. Luckily for me it was cold and rainy so I wasn't feeling like I needed to make excuses to not go anywhere simply because I was rooted to my couch. It is filmed in Austin which I think is another reason I am so fascinated by it. It is also about high school football in Texas and so it is very relatable for me having been a high school cheerleader in Texas.

You get wrapped up in the characters from the very first episode and they are all endearing and lovable in their own way. I am definitely attached!! Haha.

Also, they come up to the hospital to visit my kids a lot - I guess because they are "famous." So at least now I will know who they are and can appreciate that a little more. In the past, someone saying that Riggins from Friday Night Lights was here, meant absolutely nothing to me. Except the fact that he is an attractive girl walking around the unit :)
