So, its only a little over a week late, but here is the blog about my birthday. It was so much fun!! What a great day I had from start to finish. Luke took me to dinner on Friday night at Sullivan's Steakhouse to eat my favorite meal - filet mignon. Amazing. And then, on your birthday, they bring you a sparkler to your table!! Now, I am not sure if you know how I feel about sparklers, but I LOVE them. You can see my New Years Eve pictures from last year if you need photographic proof. So I had the most wonderful cheesecake to accompany my sparkler and it was a great, great dinner.
Then, my favorite thing ever...the fireplace!! Only this fire was made so much better by the presents that went along with it!! I have a hard time focusing on anything else now that I have the new ipod touch and I used my new pink digital camera the night of my birthday to take pictures. The most amazing gifts ever!! I got new pajamas, scarf and gloves, Burt's Bees stuff...I have the best friends.
Woke up super early on Saturday because I was so excited that it was my birthday...apparently forgetting that I was turning 27 and not 7. Went to Whole Foods because I wanted grits...delicious. And then of course, I went back to sleep around 10 because 8am just doesn't do well for me. Ran a few errands and then people came over to meet up before the race!!
Got to the Trail of Lights and it was such a fun time It wasn't that cold and it was so fun to see all of my friends and to see this amazing light display. I love Christmas lights and these were unreal. We ended up walking most of the race because it was so crowded with strollers and kids and dogs...and because we were far too interested in chatting than getting an exercise. Of course there were some runners in the group - good for them.
After the race, we all went to dinner and a few more people met up with us to eat. We kept having to add more chairs to our original table. I felt pretty special that that many people wanted to come and celebrate my birthday with me. I had a blast at dinner and loved getting to sit around and talk and laugh with my favorite people. It was truly a wonderful day.
Thanks to everyone who came out for my birthday and did the run and came to dinner and celebrated. 27 started off so great...its gonna be a good year for sure!!
