taco bueno!!!

what a glorious sunday!! it started with a great sleep and ended up bueno. perfect. i slept in and then got up and took lexi for a long walk because it was so warm outside...i think she really likes living in texas simply by default because i walk her more cause the weather is so much nicer. then i came back and didnt really do a whole lot, just read some and relaxed on my couch. per usual. hahahaha. then alyssa called to see if i wanted to go running and i actually said yes...i even surprised myself.

so she comes to get me and we go to town lake to go running. this 3 mile stretch seems like one that i am not gonna be able to do, but its so much easier to run when you are literally running alongside a lake. the weather was perfect...a little over cast and like 78 degrees so i wasnt miserably hot. had my ipod, a great little running mix and we were off. i actually really liked it and was automatically sold on getting back into running. i stopped due to the weather turning cold so now i dont really have much of an excuse for why i cant run. so, i already agreed to get up and go running in the morning. excellent. and then hopefully we can finally lay out...we havent really been able to do that all weekend due to these darn clouds. the weather has been warm, but no sunshine. sad.

then...i got home and was pretty hungry so i thought today was a great day to go in search of this newly built taco bueno in south austin. i found it quite easily and it only took like 10 minutes to get there...not bad, not bad at all. and obviously...more than worth it. got home, enjoyed my mexi dips n' chips and had a lovely time. now i am just watching a movie and relaxing and getting really sleepy. i need to get in bed at a reasonable hour tonight or i will never want to get up and run in the morning. at least, that is what i will blame it on when i dont feel like going.

oh...and i filed my taxes today!! i am so proud of myself for finally getting it done. and hopefully they will direct deposit that money right into my account so i can afford to get gas this week. hahaha. i am moreso looking forward to the "second check" thing we are getting in may. i am poor.

tomorrow is running, potential laying out, running a few errands...actually doing some school work (blah) and then getting to hang out and catch up with sarah and kat...FINALLY!! i am really excited to see those girls, its been far too long considering we live in the same dang city. silly weddings.

hooked on degrassi

i am having a really hard time getting anything done these days due to silly 'degrassi'. the greatest canadian television show ever. hahahaha. they keep having these marathons and its so easy to get wrapped up in these incredible 3o minute episodes and then realize that its been 5 hours and you havent moved except to pee occasionally. its bad. really bad. i had to make myself turn it off so i could go out and leave my house tonight. and i am glad that i did.

i was very close to not going out, but i didnt do anything last night and i feel like i really should be taking more advantage of my time off of work because before i know it, its gonna be tuesday and i will be back in school and back at work and then i will wonder where the time went. so, i got up and got ready and was headed downtown to meet up with jillian and then alyssa. i put together a pretty ridiculous, and by ridiculous i obviously mean amazing, outfit. men's white v-neck t-shirt with a brown belt over it...my new jeans that i inherited from nicole (amazing), and then my awesome cowboy boots. i was mainly just proud that my entire outfit cost less than 7 dollars. thats pretty impressive if i do say so myself.

so i met jillian and her friends out at chuggin monkey...it was a good time, but eventually it was too crowded for me and i was gonna meet up with alyssa anyway. alyssa came and got me and we went back to buffalo billards and ended up ignoring everyone and playing photo hunt on the game machine...everyone left us and we had to meet up with them later. we went to a dumb bar so alyssa and i breezed and headed over to dance at beauty bar. so much fun. its definitely our new favorite place to go out in austin...it seriously makes me feel like i am in philly when i am there. i look around to all the girls in skinny jeans and the tattoos and dyed black hair and boys in tight pants and i could easy be at silk city in philadelphia. we also took pictures in the photo booth and it was awesome. alyssa had never been in a photo booth before!! i will have to post the pictures once i scan them in. so amazing. then of course it was like 1am and we always get tired of being out around that time so we pretty much called it a night. and i was starving so i had even more motivation to head out...i needed to eat!!

just got home, had a fancy 2am meal of pasta and chicken marsala with mushrooms...sooooo good. and then some yogurt for dessert. what an excellent meal at 2am. i cant believe i ate that...i havent eaten for days because of the weird nausea thing and here i am eating chicken in the middle of the night. probably not the smartest idea, but i branched out today and ate some chicken noodle soup so i think i might be on the mend. fingers crossed. regardless, i am going to the doctor on monday to see whats going on with me.

i am about to head to bed, i am actually tired which is crazy because i literally slept ALL day. like honestly couldnt wake up today, it was ridiculous and unnecessary how much i slept today. i didnt think i was ever going to feel tired tonight, but here i am, getting kinda sleep. i am also making myself go to bed because those silly canadian teens are still on and the degrassi marathon lasts all the way through the night and into tomorrow.....ahhh!! i guess i can just watch it when i wake up.

sarah and kat get back from their last wedding they had to be in, tomorrow!! finally!! i am ready to have those girls in town for the weekend...hopefully grub club this week!

what a weird day...

the weather was supposed to be super nice so alyssa and i had all these grand plans for the day. ya know, 'alyssa and katelynns day of fun'...and nothing happened!!! we didnt even see each other until almost 5 and then only for like an hour!! the weather was overcast and rainy and somewhat cool all day so that ruined any plans of going to the pool and laying out. that was pretty much the only plans we had, but still...plans nonetheless!!

so...i ended up having a hard time getting motivated to get up and do anything because the weather was so yucky outside. but i managed to get out and get some things done that needed to be done. ran a lot of errands...i was proud of myself. i stopped at goodwill and did some shopping, found some awesome tshirts for 49 cents. including a GREAT one that says 'ballroom dancers do it slow, slow, quick, quick, slow'. how amazing is that!??

then i finally got to see alyssa!! i went over to her house and we hung out for a bit and just chatted and laughed...watched gilmore girls and friends. she tried to talk me into going to dinner with her and some friends, but i was in sweatpants and ponytail and just not looking like a friday night dinner type of person at the moment. plus it was starting to rain so i wanted to get back home and back to my comfort spot. hahahaha.

so, here i am. watching my tivo and catching up on my shows from the week. i am gonna watch a movie, but i cant seem to stay awake. my day started out with such a bizarre conversation via text message...bizarre and funny and kinda gross all at the same time. then it ended with a phone call from my little brother that was crazy...i will fill more in about that later when the time is right...wow.

how is it only friday!??

sofa beds are the greatest invention ever!!

so, i decided that the greatest idea ever would be to open up my sofa bed on my couch and pull it out for the week of vacation that i am on. and let me just tell you, it was a killer idea. i have been able to lounge around all day and be sort of in bed at the same time. i never want to really have a tv in my bedroom, but its nice to have a makeshift bed downstairs with a tv in front of it. i did manage to get out of my house today and run around with alyssa. it was gorgeous outside and so warm...almost sweaty warm, but really nice nonetheless. and we managed to spend a whole day shopping without spending money!! good thing cause thats really the only kind of shopping i can afford these days. and we got falafel (which i couldnt eat), but alyssa got babganoosh on hers and it always makes me laugh, for one, and makes me think of 'wedding crashers'. excellent movie.



i got home and now i cant really seem to stay awake. i have been falling asleep on my couch/bed for the last couple of hours while trying to watch movies. i really should just go upstairs and get in bed so i can get back on a normal schedule. this night shift thing had me up till 6am last night and trying to sleep the whole day away. and yet, i just got my second wind and i am sure i will be up for quite some time. i have 3 movies from blockbuster, a great book and tons of groceries!! forget the fact that i havent been able to eat for the last 3 days, i still have high hopes for myself...

tomorrow brings another day of greatness and laziness...running with alyssa and then laying out all day and getting my tan on. possible sweet sixteen game in houston...woo!! i am really gonna hate going back to work...hahahaha. i only have a week and then i have another week off, but i will be babysitting and house sitting for the week.

i really need to get back to my to-do list for the year and try and cross some more things off, i was doing really well for a while and i have come to a halt. i especially need to take a vacation and get out of the country and all of that.

today i am thankful for beautiful weather and caring friends cause i have a lot of them.

let the fun times begin!!

i am officially off work for the next 6 days!! its so exciting! i am never off work for more than like 3 days and thats usually really planned out because i am going home for the weekend or something. i worked the last 3 nights and now i dont have to go back until tuesday. what a great week/weekend its going to be!! i am going to go running at town lake, lay out and get some sun, maybe do a little shopping, watch movies, sleep in, go camping...its gonna be great. i am really excited about just getting to see my friends and hang out and enjoy austin.

an another note, one of my favorites, caitlyn brought me a present up to work last night and that was so amazing. it started my night off so great...she has these tshirts that her friends and family all have and wear in support of her fight against cancer and i have been wanting one for so long and now i have one!! yea!! that was pretty much the only great part of the night...the rest of the night consisted of me being nauseous and unable to participate in all the fun things...like eating...4am reese's snack time. sad news.

in other news...nicole's blog really summed up good things about having your cake and eating it too...i couldnt have said it better myself. i think we are planning a trip to L.A. in the next couple of months and its gonna be a great time...i need the girls trip.

better late than never...

wow, i am really behind here and i havent even updated on my previous weekend with alli and nicole. it was much anticipated and apparently hard to recover from because i am just now sitting down to talk about it. it was such an amazing time!! i had 4 tests to take after they left and a full week of work so thats why i am just now getting around to talk about what happened.

well, i stayed up really late on wednesday night cleaning and trying to get my apartment ready for guests (cause we all know i didnt clean early like i was supposed to). and then on thursday morning got up fairly early to take a shower and get last minute things done and then i hit the road for dallas. i wanted to go early because i wanted to stop by and see julie's new baby, avery-kate. and did and she was so adorable. julie looked great and she and brian were just so happy, it was such a good time. then i had to leave to head to the airport...

so i managed to navigate myself through the dfw airport...barely...and ran inside and surprised alli and nicole before they could surprise me!! i was seriously so happy to see them...i couldnt believe they were actually finally in texas. and neither could they!! hahahaha. they kept saying their texas lines of the weekend "dang yall" and "honky tonk". so funny. and strange. we get their luggage and get everything loaded in the car and we were off to andy and tyler's apartment...

a few missed turns and a little bit of unsure navigation, one phone call to my dad to get us on the right track, and we made it! hahahaha. stupid dallas airport. so we get to the boys apartment and sit around and debate dinner for a while and manage to decide on saltgrass...a very texas steakhouse. we wanted the girls to experience texas to the fullest...longhorns on the wall and accents and flags everywhere. it was perfect. dinner was awesome, well, for those of us that eat meat - i am sure alli would have preferred somewhere else, but she was a good sport. then we were off to downtown ft. worth...

pete's piano bar. so much fun!! the dueling piano players were amazing...they seriously know every song you request. so it was kind of like a big sing-a-long and a live jukebox. we would get so excited when they played a song that we requested. some of it was a little embarrassing to watch, but overall it was so much fun. then of course we had to go to karaoke...it was one of nicoles goals for the weekend and definitely one of her favorite things to do. and we all know why, she is freaking amazing on stage. even the boys were impressed. so, karaoke was hilarious and so much fun. nicole got called a yankee...andy sang the usual jimmy buffett...tyler did a horrible rendition of 'sexual healing'...i sang my first karaoke ever...alli forgot the words to 'if i had a million dollars'. it was basically a mess and great all at the same time. it was so much fun and there are so many ridiculous pictures. i drove everyone home, so i got to drive the truck...which i LOVE!! and we sang and laughed the whole way. so much fun. thursday was such a great day...no sleep at all that night, but so much fun.

got up at 7:15 on friday morning and woke the girls up and we hit the road for austin...we ended up getting to town pretty early, before 11 and coming back to the apartment and relaxing for a bit. we got moving and walked around, got some food and just wandered. stopped and heard a show that was playing outside and got some free ice cream. we were all exhausted so we ended up coming back to my apartment and watching movies and taking naps...sorta. then we got up and showered and got ready to go out for the night. we had plans to meet up with sarah and kat and their husbands and alyssa and paul at hula hut for dinner. we had a really long wait there, but it was so nice outside that i dont think anyone really minded. dinner was great and really fun, i was glad all of my friends got to meet each other. then alli, nicole, me and alyssa and i all headed downtown for the night. it was madness downtown!! we wandered around 6th street and stopped in random bars along the way...the night ended at beauty bar where we danced our faces off. it was so much fun!! then home because we were exhausted.

saturday started out with a little bit of shopping, unsuccessful shopping, but we tried. then we went to the park to scope out the band scene and see when the shows we wanted to see where going to be. then we just relaxed and laid around...a few more movies and naps...and then it was time to head out for the night. i had to do my merch girl business at 5 for feeding5000 so we did that first, then walked down to waterloo park where we saw the shows that alli and nicole really wanted to see. the weather was perfect and we were having such a great time. then we walked downtown and we were gonna see nicole's friends from new york...they were playing a show on 6th street. that show was fun and the boys in the band were super fun. we stayed and saw another show from a band that we had discovered the night before and decided we loved. then we left and went and hung out with nicole's friends...the boys from lights resolve. band boys are always fun. hahaha. so we had a good time being silly with them and then we were just ready to call it a night. we make a quick stop by taco bell on the way home and came home and devoured it. amazing.

sunday we got up and had a hard time getting moving, i think the weekend was finally catching up to us. we ran around, did a few things, but we didnt have much time because we had to hit the road for dallas to take them back to the airport. we got stuck in a little bit of traffic (which was kind of expected), but we ended up making it to the airport in plenty of time. i dropped the girls off...sad...and then i headed over to andy's for a bit to hang out because it was still so early. and because he and tyler make me laugh.

all and all the weekend was amazing. exhausting, but amazing. i was super sad to see them go, but we are planning our next trip and we are gonna make it great. i love when the three of us are together - the trouble we can get into is always a good time. i want to do it again very very soon!! thanks for coming girl!!

no sleep...

whoa the crazy weekend!! i have two tests tomorrow and two tests on thursday, but i am gonna write an update and recap of the weekend as soon as my week slows down...probably thursday night when i am at work from 7pm-7am. i will say that it was ridiculous and amazing and one of the best times ever...the pictures are silly and hilarious and i loved it all.

heartbroken.

life isnt fair or understandable sometimes. words cant even be written today about how i am feeling. veronica passed away last night around midnight and my heart is literally broken. physically hurting. i am so sad. i love her and i love her family. my heart goes out to her mom and her sisters. veronica was so so so loved and so cared about and therefore will be so so so missed. i was glad i was there last night and so glad that i was able to know this girl and be a part of her life and am forever grateful for the joy that she brought into mine. veronica, you will be missed greatly.

avery kate!!!

is officially on her way!! julie texted me and said she was in labor...so we are all praying for a safe delivery and a healthy julie and a healthy baby avery. so exciting!!!! i cant wait to meet this baby!!

in other news...its FRIDAY!! work and then relaxing and cleaning...then babysitting overnight tomorrow night...blah. the week is gonna fly by and then it will be thursday and i will be driving to dallas (seeing baby avery on the way) and picking up alli and nicole from the airport.

just wanted to say yea for baby avery kate who is gonna be born soon!!!

one week!!

its official...one week till the arrival of alli and nicole!! i am so freaking excited! and i am officially on spring break as of right now! that means i can sit on my couch, watch 'rescue me' and all my other shows on tv without having to do anything but go to work. and the weather here is so great for sitting around and doing nothing because for some odd reason...its freezing!!

i cant believe its already thursday though...this week has gone by pretty quickly. i have worked every day since monday and only one more day to go till the weekend. although i am babysitting overnight on saturday night so i am not really going to be having much of a weekend. work friday, babysit saturday, and work sunday. boo. i have to work sunday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday so i can have the whole 4 days off for SB '08!! i hope the weather turns around so alli and nicole can at least enjoy some warm weather when they come down.

work has been crazy slow all week...which is a good thing when you look at the big picture, not a lot of patients means not a lot of sick kids. yazmin is back though for 5 days of chemo and thats exciting. i love getting to hang out with her, she always makes me laugh. and caitlyn kirby has stopped by the last 2 weeks just to say hi and that always makes my day...she is adorable. how much do i love these girls!??

its so dark outside right now that i am having a hard time getting my day started, it seriously looks like it should be bedtime out. gross winter weather in march...i hate that. i really want to make rise krispie treats or cupcakes or something today...i need some good snacks in my life. hahahaha, i am ridiculous.

snowing in march??

in texas!?? what is going on here?? i am not happy about it...i will tell you that. it was 80 degrees like 2 days ago and now i am seeing snowflakes outside. insane. as far as mondays go, it was a good day. nothing really exciting - just a pretty normal day. slept in, watched the usual amount of tivo, and then showered and worked.

i uploaded my first ever video to youtube today and i was pretty dang proud of myself. it isnt even really a great video or even that great of quality, but i am proud that i figured it out and now i have a feeling i will be obsessed with taking video of things just because sometimes they are more fun. i like to have live action sometimes. it could get more incriminating for sure - especially next week when alli and nicole are here next week. uh oh.

the video is from the feeding5000 show on saturday night in dallas. its pretty dark, but its the chorus of my favorite song that they sing called 'sing out loud'...its a great great song. i really love those boys and am happy to be a part of their music.

i really need to start cleaning my apartment cause i have 10 days until i have house guests and my apartment is in no shape to be shared right now. good thing i have spring break next week cause i am not motivated to clean at all right now.

i need some more 'rescue me' in my life...i am hooked.

weekend recap.

again...what a glorious weekend. 3 days off from work and lots of fun things to do. friday was a freaking gorgeous day in austin, the weather was unbelievable. i was able to run errands just enjoy the day. then we were going out to dinner for jillian's birthday!! we ended up at papasitos because our orignal plan of pappadeuxs got changed due to a 2 hour wait. we had a lot of fun at dinner and then we were all planning on going our separate ways downtown. i had to go to the feeding 5000 show at antones, do my usual merch girl business...selling tshirts and cds. the show was super fun and i love getting to hang out with those boys. then i met back up with alyssa and jillian and everyone at 'the marq' downtown. accomplished one of my goals for the year by meeting, and by meeting i mean literally running into, the bachelor - brad womack. we danced, hung out...it was a good time

saturday i got up early and ran tons of errands trying to get things done because i was heading to dallas for the night with kathryn. we were going for michelle's bachelorette shower and then i had another feeding5000 show in downtown dallas. i sweet talked my way into free parking and no cover to get into the show - i felt pretty good about that. hahahaha. the show was great, we had lots of fun...yet again. then i met up with some boys from wichita falls that i hadnt seen in years and hung out for a while. 2 hours of sleep later, kat and i were back on the road to austin. so freaking tired, but what a road trip. i am not sure if anyone else could entertain themselves as well as the two of us can. i was laughing so hard at some points i thought i might need to pull the car over, my stomach was physically hurting. i loved it.

so i am now back in austin, so happy to be home and on my couch - obviously. i took a really long nap to catch up on all the missed sleep from last night. the weather here was overcast all day so it was perfect napping weather. i woke up and caught up on some tivo and then went and got my favorite - queso!! onto blockbuster to find some entertainment for the night. i am hooked on the tv series 'rescue me' and after spending a weekend watching the entire first season and the start of the second season, i needed to finish it...i missed the boys. so now i have been spending the day watching season 2. i also bought the movie 'once' cause i had a blockbuster giftcard from 2 christmases ago...pretty exciting.

this week should go by relatively fast and easy. i have no tests or anything and so school should be pretty relaxed. just work all week. and then next week is spring break!!!! ahhhh...the beauty of being back in school. and of course the best part of next week....alli and nicole coming to texas!!!!
