12 hours later...

and i am home from work. what a long day!! i worked 12 hour shifts all summer long and i forgot how long they really are. i am not sure how i did it for 3 months...regardless, i had to work 12 hours again today. it seemed like it was going to be a long day when i looked at the clock around 1:30, but it actually ended up going by pretty quickly and it was over faster than i realized. the sad thing is that i have to get up tomorrow morning, well, in about 9 hours to be exact...and do it all over again. 2 days in a row of this 12 hour business!?? big mistake katelynn.

anyway, the extra hour of sleep was extremely helpful, especially considering i stayed up till after 2am for some reason. therefore, i ended up in bed around 1:45am. i got up around 10 and just couldnt get moving. had every intention of showering before work, but i came downstairs and sat on the couch and looked up and it was 40 minutes later and i had to get dressed and leave. oops. guess that means i HAVE to shower before work tomorrow.

i had the best patients at work today...caitlin is back for a minor pain thing and a short stay (phew), but i love her and she is in my top favorites so i was glad to go sit in her room and play with her for a while. her hair is growing back and she looks so cute. i love that she remembers things about me and we both still had our friendship bracelets on...yea!! and then there was kathy. she is a 21 year old who just relapsed for the 3rd time. her story is encouraging and heartbreaking all at the same time. she is adorable and so fun. i met her a few days ago when she came in and all the nurses on our floor love her because they have known her since she was 15. and now i love her too. i laid in her bed for about an hour today and we read magazines and she told me the story of how she met her husband - she got married 3 months ago. she is amazing and such a fighter and she blessed me today in a million different ways. and her dad went out and got us mexican food and we had lunch together!! yea!! i cant wait to go in her room and lay in bed and watch 'fight club' with her tomorrow...

and now i am home, i hung out with lexi for a big and now i am gonna head to bed so i can do it all over again tomorrow. i got a smidgen of homework done at work tonight (maybe if i would quit laying around in patients beds i would get more done), but regardless i have to get the rest of it done tomorrow so i dont have to worry about coming home tomorrow night and doing it. then back into the mix of tons of homework and school for the rest of the week...ugh.
